Topic
David Attenborough is a crucial figure in raising awareness about the plastic pollution crisis because of his extensive and highly influential nature documentaries, especially the Blue Planet II series, which brought the issue into the public eye. His work has been instrumental in shifting public opinion and inspiring action against plastic waste. Due to this we decided to ‘hot seat’ David Attenborough, we came up with ideas and questions that we would ask him!
“How do you feel when seeing all the plastic in the ocean?”
“How can we help with plastic pollution?”
“How does plastic hurt the animals?”
Yoga
We are lucky enough to have yoga every week with Adele, this week we focused on breathing techniques and stretches to help us overcome how we are feeling!
English
In English we were planning what our setting description in our alternative story will look like. We drew our idea and then wrote some adverbial phrases to go along side it.
Natural History Museum Trip
It may be versatile, durable and endlessly useful, but the once revolutionary plastic is beginning to fill Earth's oceans, posing a threat to marine life great and small.
Plastic has thousands of uses, its versatility and virtual indestructability practically unmatched in the world of synthetic materials. Since first developing plastic in 1907, we have melded and moulded the material to fulfil our needs and desires. From bags and milk bottles to agriculture and transportation, plastic is everywhere, useful and convenient. But we could be yet to realise the true cost of the synthetic behemoth we have created.
We visited the plastic pollution workshop at the Natural History museum and then looked around all of the amazing sections.
“My favourite was the mammals.”
“It worries me how much plastic is in the ocean!”
Plastic Pollution Posters
Once we had been on our trip to the museum we decided to spread awareness on plastic pollution, we looked at some examples of posters and then created our own ones! We aimed for them to be eye catching and factual.
