These activities are fantastic for developing resilience, communication and problem-solving skills!

Year 6 – The Decathlon Award
Our Year 6 pupils have taken on the exciting Decathlon Award, tackling ten different athletics activities across track and field. They are recording their scores each lesson, with the aim of seeing just how much they have improved across all ten events by Week 7.
The question is... 'have any of the Year 6's managed to beat Mr Trenowden's Vertical jump this year?'
A few of the Year 6's were close but not close enough just yet!
The Decathlon Award has been a brilliant opportunity for the pupils to challenge themselves, track their progress and celebrate their achievements!

Biography All About Miss Critcher
From a young age, I have always had a strong passion for sport, movement and performance. Sport has played a significant role throughout my life. My sporting journey began at a young age, where I trained as a Regional Gymnast before progressing into Competitive Cheerleading.
One of my proudest sporting achievements has to be representing my country at the World Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, where my team were fortunate enough to achieve a bronze medal on the world’s stage.
Alongside my sporting career, I developed a passion for Dance and Performing Arts. From the age of 12, I trained at the Centre for Advanced Training at Trinity Laban, where I further developed my technical ability, creativity and performance skills. This experience played an important role in shaping my understanding of movement and my passion for teaching sport.
Outside of teaching, I continue to maintain an active lifestyle. I enjoy spending time at the gym and going on long runs. Staying active remains an important part of who I am and reflects the passion I have for sport. I will continue to spread the importance of P.E throughout Whinless Down Academy and hope all pupils enjoy their weekly P.E lessons.

Miss Critcher’s Mission for P.E
I believe P.E is so much more than simply playing sport or being physically active. P.E is an opportunity to inspire young people to discover what they are capable of. I believe every child should leave a PE lesson feeling that they have achieved something, challenged themselves and discovered a reason to enjoy being active.
