Term 6 - Butter Making
Year 4 had an exciting learning lift-off for their new topic, Everything Changes. To begin our learning journey, we explored how butter is made using just double cream. Working collaboratively, the children took turns shaking the cream and observing the changes taking place. After lots of teamwork and perseverance, we successfully made our own butter!

The best part was the taste test, which received a big thumbs-up from everyone. We discovered that turning cream into butter is an irreversible change, as it cannot be changed back into cream. It was a fantastic start to our new topic!

Term 4 - Litter Picking
As part of our topic, Plastic Planet, Year 4 were Responsible Raccoons and have been litter picking in our local community. We were shocked at how much rubbish we collected! In class, we were inspired to create some posters to display in our local community asking people to ensure they put their rubbish in the bin.

Term 3 - Forest School Day
During O'Keeffe Class's Forest School day, we had an amazing time, despite the wet weather! We developed our forest school skills of den building and using some tools whilst exploring new areas of our school grounds some of us had never explored before. Thanks Mr Trenowden for sharing your knowledge with us.

Term 2 - Music
This term, O'Keeffe class have been lucky enough to head down to our new Music Room, McCartney Class with Mr Cook, to start our learning of the recorder. So far, we've learnt that we hold the recorder in our left hand and we've also been practicing the first three notes, B, A and G. What an exciting start to our new musical adventure!

Roman Painted House Trip
To launch our new topic, Rotten Romans, we visited the Roman Painted House in Dover. We explored the artefacts and even completed a quiz to test our newly learned knowledge. It was great to see such history right on our doorstep. Thanks to all our parent helpers that came along and made this experience possible.
