Term 3
Number Day Fun!
For NSPCC Number Day, we dressed up as rock stars and had a great day! We took part in number games, such as marching around the room counting to 50; playing rock, paper, scissors and the loser having to do 5 star jumps; and making shapes for the adults to guess. We even logged onto TTRockstars and had a go at our 2x and 10x tables!
Diaries
As part of our English, we imagined we were a child in the Great Fire of London. Using role play masks we acted out how we may have felt, what we may have seen and heard, and what we may have done. We had great fun. Following this, we were given a piece of singed paper and wrote our own diary entries. Aren’t they fab!?!
Art
In art, we have been learning to use shading to help give a piece of art work texture. We started off by using pencil to practise shading before moving onto charcoal and creating these masterpieces.
Fire! Fire!
With Mr Trenowden, our Forest School teacher, we went to a fire pit and attempted to put out the fire using only cups of water. We very quickly realised that this wasn’t going to work, just as it didn’t back in 1666 during the Great Fire of London.
Great Fire of London
We have been learning about the Great Fire of London. To support our learning in English and diary writing, we have imagined we were in the Great Fire and discussed feelings and emotions. We used masks and role-played the facts. We had a great time!
Learning Lift Off
For our lift off this term, we were given an investigation pack to see if we could work out what the tragedy was. We made police detective badges and worked in pairs using an ‘incident report form’. We discovered that there had been a fire back in 1666 which destroyed lots of houses in London.
