Term 4
Lift off
As spectacular Scientists we will consider, ‘Do all plants require the same conditions to grow?’ What can we discover about growing plants? - That is the question we have been asked to investigate and answer this term.
We began by watching the House Party Scene in Peter Rabbit where all the animals destroy Mr McGregor’s Garden. We were then given a cut up plant to piece together before becoming scientists and investigating what plants need to survive. We placed seeds into cups and gave them different conditions – water and light, water and no light, no water and light, and no water and no light. We were amazed to discover that the seeds with no light and water did grow, but not in a healthy way!
RE
This term we have been looking at and learning about the Patron Saints of the UK. We learnt about St Patrick’s Day on 17th March and wrote some key facts on a shamrock template. Some of us even pretended we were a leprechaun. We also learnt about St David’s Day and wrote some sentences and facts.
Planting
Following our plant investigation for our Learning Lift Off, we were given a cup, cotton wool and seed each. We had to decide where to plant them to help them grow their best. Most of us chose the windowsill in the classroom. Look how great they are growing already!
Yoga
We have been lucky enough to have two Yoga sessions this term, led by the wonderful Adele from Once Upon the Mat. The first session was focussed on pirate and we played a great game using Yoga poses. The second session was themed around super hearos where we learnt a range of new poses. We really love our Yoga sessions!
World Book Day
Look at some of our fantastic costumes for World Book Day! We had a great day focussing our learning around our favourite books. We also loved the parade and showing off our amazing costumes.
