Captain Trainor checked all our documents and we boarded the Loyalty class cruise ship and we were off travelling across Europe from Dover to Lisbon in Portugal! Along the way we learnt that Europe is the smallest continent, Key facts about Lisbon and then compared Dover and Lisbon discovering both places had ports however spoke different languages.

We are setting set sail across the Atlantic Ocean to North America docking in New York next!

Art

We looked at the work of Maria Helena Vieira da Silva who used rectangles in her work to create depth and space.

This gave us the idea to be creative ourselves so we researched Portuguese style blue and white tiles and then we made some out of blue and white paper demonstrating not only great scissor control but also creating some fantastic patterns.

PSHE

This term we are answering the key question How do we recognise our feelings?

We had a picture of Maz the alien and we told her everything we know about feelings making a list of different feelings and showing our happy, sad, excited and angry faces. We also discussed how our bodies would feel for each feeling.

RE

How should we care for others and the world, and why does it matter?

First, we looked at how Christians believe we should look after others using the parables ‘The Good Samaritan’ and ‘Jesus healing a paralysed man’ we decided both stories showed how we should help by helping people up if they fall and looking after our neighbours not just walking past. Next, we will look at caring in the Jewish faith.

English

Continuing the travel theme, we have written our own postcards describing some of the fun things you can do when visiting Dover. We have worked really hard on our presentation, handwriting and using adventurous vocabulary.
